Rally for Rita's Hip Replacement Surgery

Dear friends and kind-hearted souls,

My name is Alyssa, and I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea on behalf of my dear friend and coworker, Rita Russo. Her health recently took a challenging turn, and I’m here to share her story and seek your support.

Earlier this year in March, Rita began to experience a slight twinge of pain in her hip. This seemingly minor issue quickly escalated into something much more debilitating, leaving Rita unable to walk, or work, by the end of June. All the cartilage in her right hip has degraded completely, causing bone-on-bone friction and relentless pain. It's been heart-wrenching to witness the toll it's taken on her physical and emotional well-being.

Rita, known for her bright smile and incessant hard work at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove and St. Paul Mountain Vineyards, has had to temporarily step away from both jobs due to the pain. Thankfully, her hip replacement surgery is scheduled soon for August 30th. While Rita is insured, the surgery costs around $25,000 - not including the ongoing medical and living expenses she will incur during recovery.

The past few months have been a trying and uncomfortable period for Rita. While coping with the pain, she has been juggling countless doctor’s appointments and facing emotional and financial strain. Rita cannot wait to be healthy, active, and working for her beloved community again, but for now, she faces the fast-approaching surgery with mixed feelings: hope for a pain-free future and a smooth recovery, but also worry about how she will support herself during this time.
