Rally for Shawntay and Malachi's Healing

I am raising funds on behalf of Shawntay Gorman and her son Malachi. Just 5 days ago Shawntay shared that she is experiencing a parent's worst nightmare, her son Malachi who is only 20 years old was suffering a medical emergency. Shawntay was told that two of Malachi's vital organs (his heart and kidneys), were failing.

The good news is, is that Malachi was rushed to UCSF to receive the care and attention he needs to begin his path towards healing, the unfortunate news is that for Shawntay who resides in Sacramento, this means even more stress and added expenses to an already very stressful and difficult situation as she drives back and forth. Adding to the heartache, Shawntay recently suffered the loss of her mother, who was also Malachi's best friend.

Shawntay is a mother, artist, activist, ally, friend, and an integral part of what makes Sacramento more than just a city, but rather a community. Her countless efforts to support others in their time of need and her allyship add to the vibrancy and beauty of Sacramento. She is well known by her friends, family, and peers for helping others in their time of need, and much like his mom, Malachi is always willing to lend a hand and support others.

Medical costs are mounting as her son is being cared for, as is the costs to drive back and forth from Sacramento to San Francisco, the cost of finding lodging in San Francisco, and not to mention time away from making art (that is a large part of her income) is adding up.

To date Shawntay has paid $400 to stay with Malachi as often as she can.

Despite all this, Malachi is in good spirits and we are positive Malachi will make a full recovery.

This is truly a nightmare situation for any parent, please help join us as we work to remove some* of the financial stress for Shawntay and to show both Malachi and Shawntay they are supported and loved.
