Rally for Stephanie: Mother and Teacher in Need.
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping my sister, Stephanie, through a challenging time. We’ve recently learned that Steph will be off of work while undergoing treatment for stage 2 breast cancer.
For those of you who know Steph, know that she is a dedicated mother of two teenage daughters, a teacher and a wife. She is an inspiration with her love of teaching and educating her first grade students. Steph has always been an advocate for her students and their needs in the classroom, whether that be providing extra food, snacks, education help, or kindness and tolerance to assist in behavioral and academic needs and of course words of affirmation. She is a mother and teacher who knows the value of unconditional love and kindness in her home and the classroom. This is what makes her daughters and classroom students thrive in a safe and healthy environment.
Steph was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at the end of August this year. Since being diagnosed in late August she has undergone multiple medical procedures, which have included multiple body scans, including ultrasounds, mammograms, CT-scans, MRIs, biopsies, and multiple surgeries. Due to her medical procedures and treatment thus far she has nearly exhausted her available sick leave and PTO and will have no remaining sick days left to use. She has a minimum of five months of intensive treatments ahead that will include multiple body scans, PETScan, MRIs, chemotherapy, and radiation.
Due to Steph’s profession as a first grade teacher she is medically unable to work during these next phases of her treatment as she will be immune compromised, and her providers have expressed the importance of limiting her exposure to others and the community to protect her immune system.
With the increasing costs of Steph’s health care and bills due to these procedures and treatments along with needing to take the next months off, things have been financially challenging. Her husband Ryan has continued to work multiple extra hours at work to keep them afloat, however with her not being able to work and having limited PTO and sick time left, this will add further devastating financial hardships. All money raised will go to assisting Stephanie and her family with their financial needs. Which will include but are not limited to medical bills, household bills, food and any other needs that may arise.
