Rally for the Richardsons: Honoring Chani's Memory

Hi everyone,

My name is Lileana (Lily) Roque, and together with Wendy Chaves and Jade Rosado, we are close family friends of the Richardsons. With DeAndre and the family’s blessing, we’re reaching out to ask for your support as we rally around them in this time of unimaginable loss.

Sandra “Chani” Richardson — beloved wife, devoted mom to Ezra, loyal friend, and one of the fiercest, kindest souls I’ve ever known — passed away far too soon.

Just 10 days ago, Chani began experiencing a series of intense migraine-related symptoms that rapidly worsened. Despite multiple hospital visits, she ultimately suffered a devastating hemorrhagic stroke that led to cardiac arrest. She was transferred to another hospital for surgery, but despite every effort and every prayer, multiple neurological evaluations confirmed that there was no brain activity. Chani was given her last rites on April 16, 2025.

She was only 42 years old.

Chani was one of those rare people who made everyone feel like family. She gave her whole heart to everything she did — as a mother, a partner, a friend. If you knew her, you know the depth of her loyalty, her fire, her humor, and her ability to make you feel seen and loved. She had a way of showing up — with meals, late-night texts, big hugs, or quiet presence. The impact she had on so many cannot be put into words.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for her family.

We’re raising funds to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, memorial costs, and to support DeAndre and Ezra as they begin the incredibly difficult process of healing and rebuilding without her. This loss was sudden and devastating, and no family should have to walk through it alone.
