Rally ‘Round Rachel
Let’s rally! Rachel’s relapse in February threw her back into lengthy treatment and a second stem cell transplant back in the spring. Just when she was recovering and feeling good....her July biopsy showed a second relapse had occurred. She began a medication shortly after the bad news to suppress the leukemia cells. That medication did get rid of some of the leukemia cells, but now her donor cells have been wiped out, too. A few weeks ago Rachel received news from her UTSW transplant team that a third transplant is not an option. Since then, she has completed another round of medication to suppress the leukemia cells. Rachel’s current treatment plan is to continue the medication on a monthly basis. On Monday, September 24th Rachel will be meeting with doctors at MD Anderson to seek opinions and discuss further treatment plans.
How can we rally ‘round Rachel?
By praying continuously for safe travels, for peace and comfort for Rachel and her family, for a treatment plan that gets rid of the leukemia, and for protection from infection and illness for Rachel.
By giving generously. The longer the fight, the greater the need!
By loving and supporting Rachel always!
