Rallying Support for Nicole

Last week my beautiful and sympathetic daughter found herself in a precarious situation after leaving work late in the evening when she stopped at a neighborhood gas station; and was called upon for help by a frantic young woman who claimed she was in danger and begging her for a ride to safety.
She told Nicole she was fleeing from her abusive boyfriend and pleaded with Nicole to help make her escape.  Nicole did not hesitate to help her and immediately came to her aide telling her to get into her car so she would be safe and take her where she needed to go.

What happened next is shocking. The girl proceeded to get into Nicole’s car and then immediately locked Nicole out – she crawled into the driver’s seat and quickly drove away.  Nicole was left stranded and dumbfounded as she realized this person fabricated the story and had done so in order to steel her car.  Now Nicole was the person who was really in trouble and needed help.

Despite efforts by Nicole and the local police to locate her stolen car it has not been recovered.  After 48 hours the chance of recovery is slim to none.

Nicole is without means to get to her job depending on rides from generous friends and expensive cab fares in the meantime.  She is single and works hard as a bartender to support herself. This comes at the worst possible time for her as she has had a string of car problems this past year that has exhausted all her savings.   

Last July she had an accident that totaled her car- spending what savings she had to buy another car.  Just last month - that car suffered an engine failure with cost to repair it greater than the car’s value.  So again she spent what little she had left in savings to buy the Honda Accord stolen from her last week.  Liability auto insurance will not cover this loss.
Our family is pitching in so she can afford to buy a replacement car as soon as possible, but it’s not enough to cover it all.    If you read this story and would like to help Nicole cover the replacement costs by making a small donation we have started this easy, safe and secure GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $2,000 for her expenses.
