Please help Ralph get the intensive care that he needs.

Please Help Save Ralph – Our Sweet Boy Fighting suspected Kidney Disease.

Hi Everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for our beautiful cat, Ralph. He’s currently in intensive care at the Pet Medic Hospital with early bloods showing he has suspected kidney disease and is suffering severe dehydration. He’s not been eating properly for a number of days and he’s just not been his usual vocal and loving self. Yesterday he became a little wobbly on his feet and this morning he’s been admitted for intensive care from attending a vet appointment.

Blood tests taken this afternoon show that his kidneys aren’t functioning properly. He’s severely dehydrated and is now on an IV drip receiving urgent care. The vets will need to carry out more tests tomorrow and over the coming days — including further bloodwork, urine analysis, and an ultrasound of his kidneys — to determine the exact cause and how best to treat him.

Ralph is only 8 years old – full of sweetness, love, affection and personality. He’s always been a gentle, affectionate boy, and the thought of him confused and unwell in the hospital really breaks my heart.

The cost of his care is overwhelming:

• £1,800 for the first 24 hours

• £800 per day after that for ongoing treatment and monitoring.

The Vets have said will likely need to stay for several days (approximately 4-5) to stabilise and give him the best possible chance of recovery. We are completely beside ourselves with the thought of not being able to give him the best chance at fighting this and hence why I’ve put this appeal together.

I want to do everything I can to bring Ralph home, happy and healthy. If you’re able to spare anything at all to help towards his treatment, I would be endlessly grateful. Every little bit helps and means the world — not just to us but to Ralph too.

We lost sweet Oscar in December and I really just can’t face the thought of losing another only a few months later.
