Ramadhan Feast&Eid Clothing for Orphans in Somalia

Asalaam Aleekum Warahmatul’Laahi Wa Barakaatu, as we all know Ramadhan is about fasting, in doing so, we eat less to make our bodies healthier, we give in charity to support the poor and we eat together to be in tune with one another. When the rich suffers from hunger and thirst, they feel the agony of the poor and thus, they rush to spend on them in charity, so today I am setting up a fundraising page to raise some money for Ramadhan feast (Iftar) and Eid clothing for the needy and hungry orphan children in Somalia. 

We usually aim to raise between £3,000 to £6,000 a year, however this is a one off fundraising during the holy month of Ramadhan, until the following year God willing (Insha’Allah). We also usually hold events and gatherings between the communities and families around London to try and meet our target, however we have been unsuccessful for the past 2 years now and hope to raise that amount or if not at least half to give the orphan children a penny for their thoughts and a happy Eid this year.

Each family receives just under £100 to spend during the month of Ramadan to feed their fostered children and an additional £10 to each child to spend for their Eid clothing.

Mr Sharif Muhammed Noor is the person in charge for all of this back home in Somalia, who is responsible for collecting the money from money transfer called Dahabshiil and distributing the money and making sure each family and individual is left with something at least. It may not be possible to meet our target (£4,000) within the limited amount we have left till Ramadhan ends, but we would be grateful and appreciate any donation you can offer even as small as £1 can make a huge difference in a child’s life let alone an orphan child.

I will be withdrawing the funds using my name and account details. Please note once I withdraw the funds on gofundme page I shall then receive it from Al Rahma Charity Organisation and send it to Mr Sharif via Dhabshiil which again is another form of money transfer option like Western Union but this is easier, cheaper and faster to send money within Somalia, Mr Sharif will then receive it within minutes/hours and purchase the equipments needed and distribute the remaining cash to the Orphan children and families.
