2020 has brought unforeseen hardship and struggle to everyone. Over the past couple of months, Raman Khanna – beloved father, husband, colleague, and friend – has had the added hurdles of assisting his mother as she recovers from a stroke in the hospital and supporting his wife’s pregnancy of their second child (joyously and healthily born this past Saturday, 11/7)!
As if dealing with all of this wasn’t difficult enough, Raman was unfortunately diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 3 oral cancer in recent weeks. On Tuesday, 11/10, Raman is scheduled to go into an intensive surgery, after which he will begin a long treatment journey of chemotherapy and radiation. While we know Raman is in good hands with the doctors and staff at Lenox Hill, his battle with cancer is just beginning, and we want to do what we can to help him and his family focus on the fight for his health by alleviating the financial battle of his treatment plan.
We are setting up this Go-Fund-Me page to aid the Khanna family with medical bills for his treatment while his wife recovers from the birth of their son. Raman’s kindness, love, and positivity shine through from the moment you meet him. He is the first person to reach in his pocket to assist someone in need, and reminds us to stay grounded, humble, and supportive of communities in need – qualities that became all the more important in 2020. After all he has done for us, now is the time to show Raman how impactful he has been to all of us, and to show him all of our support.
Please join us in supporting Raman on this journey by making any contribution you can. Every little bit helps and if you know Raman, you know nothing goes unnoticed or unappreciated!
In his own words (taken from his IG post)- "Life says this is likely the moment my mother raised me for. I’m Shobha’s son. And no matter how many moments of weakness I have, there’s a lifetime of strength to stand on. I don’t plan on losing this fight, so I walk into it bald-headed and ready for war. This is my battle cry."
Thank you.
