Ramim & Tara from Bangladesh to a better future
Donation protected
Hi there!
We're Wesley & Joost, and we're taking on a challenge we never thought we could handle – completing a half iron man, despite struggling to climb four office staircases without gasping for air! Why? Because we believe in giving someone born into adversity a shot at a brighter future. If they can endure such hardships, how hard can a half iron man be in comparison?
Meet Ramim and Tara, born in the slums of Bangladesh, surrounded by extreme poverty. For the past decade, we've stood by them, supporting their relentless pursuit to break free from this cycle. In 2019, their dedication paid off with a scholarship to study in Portugal. However, limited job opportunities in Braganca have made it impossible for them to sustain themselves while pursuing their studies. Despite these challenges, they've been working multiple jobs to cover tuition fees, support their families back home, and manage their living expenses but all 300 km away from the university and still excelling in their exams.
Their graduation by July 2024 is crucial, but to achieve this, they must return to the university by February 1st, 2024. Unfortunately, due to the scarcity of job opportunities in Braganca, they are unable to sustain themselves while trying to graduate. This is where we need your help to turn their dreams into reality.
Our goal is to raise 10,000 euros, which will cover:
- Six months' rent for a room/studio
- 2x 1500 euros for tuition fees over six months
- Living expenses for six months, including food and essentials
- Additional funds for travel to their internship post-graduation
Ramim and Tara have overcome incredible odds, and we want to provide that final boost to ensure they can live the lives we consider normal – lives they only dream of.
Please, join us in this journey to transform their futures and enable them to thrive. Your contribution will be a stepping stone toward their success and a chance for them to experience the opportunities we often take for granted.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Wesley & Joost
