***UPDATE: This fundraiser is now closed. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed, our family appreciates your kindness and generosity.***
Our beloved Ramiro Estalilla recently passed on September 7th, 2024. His passing came unexpectedly as he recovered from emergency surgery to repair a twisted colon.
Ramiro was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Flordeliza, son and daughters Prince, Alpha, and Brenda, grandchildren Karen, Sean, Courtney, Samantha, Nathan, and Shelby, and great-grandchildren Jace, Franklin, and Alazne.
Born and raised in the Philippines in 1930, Ramiro worked diligently as a Christian minister and escorted many immigrants to America, where he would later bring his family in 1976. As a Grandmaster of Kabaroan Eskrima, Ramiro taught the Filipino Martial Arts style to hundreds of students across California, and published the book "Estalilla Kabaroan Eskrima: Overview of the 3-Part System" in 2017. He also spent 10+ years working at Fresno State teaching Christian Bible Study and Martial Arts, where he would later earn the title "Mr. Fresno State" at CSU Fresno in 2024.
Ramiro was a devout man of God and he can now find peace resting in His kingdom.
We are devastated by this sudden loss and unfortunately are not prepared for steep funeral expenses. We will need to raise funds in order to give Ramiro the memorial service he deserves. We ask for your prayers and well wishes for the family, and, if possible, a monetary donation to help with these costs.
GFM bookkeeping will be strictly monitored by Shelby Estalilla Domingo, Ramiro's youngest granddaughter. If you’d like to donate directly to our fundraiser (via cash, check, or money order) please contact Shelby through the contact form below.
