A tribute to the life of Ramiro

Today, my father has passed away after fighting several illnesses over the course of 6 months, one of them being Covid-19.

My father always loved going fishing on a Sunday morning. We used to get up at 5 am and drive straight to Boca Chica Beach, Tx, to start right at sunrise. Some of the most cherishable memories I have of him took place in that setting and time. He was an excellent builder who enjoyed constructing projects of many sorts - one of them being a giant ramp as tall as a single-story house for my skateboard fanatic younger self.

He was the most selfless person I've ever had the pleasure of growing up with. Doing favors for so many out of the kindness of his heart, my dad took pleasure in easing the burden off of people's hardships in any way he could. It's with great joy and comfort to say that many will miss him, especially his beloved family.

I made a promise to him as he laid in bed, ready to embrace life with god, that I would do everything in my power to continue his legacy: always to spread love and positivity, no matter what hardships and tribulations you're facing. It's often the smallest acts of kindness that will brighten up somebody's entire being. So with that, I leave his favorite quote by Bob Marley: "overcome the devils with a thing called love."

This fundraising will help alleviate some of the financial burden of my family and I, so that we may focus on mourning and being there for each other. The funds will cover cemetery & funeral home services, including:

1. Opening & closing service

2. Tent, chairs, machinery, and concrete liner 

3. Casket

4. Director and staff services

5. Vehicle pickup services
