Ramon Amaya School in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carlos Delcid; 20 years ago, my mom started a public school in Honduras on an improvised tent with very few desks.
Her vision was to build a school for the kids in my neighborhood back in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, so that they could have access to education. With that in mind, she started doing a lot of activities within our local community to raise money for bricks and other materials needed to build the first classroom.
Activities like selling burgers, doing contests, and getting donations with our community helped her mission come true, as well as having the first classroom for students. That first classroom became a whole school after many years of hard work.
That same school is in pretty bad shape today, given local authorities' lack of maintenance and support. My goal is to create this GoFundMe to help restore and build a computer lab so the students can access a better education.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope you can join me in helping Honduran students have access to quality education.
UPDATE AUGUST 2024!
With the funds we have received so far, we have been able to do much! We have fixed some of the bathrooms and made one of the classrooms operational again.
Our ultimate goal is to build a computer lab and provide bilingual education to students.
Hope we can count on your help!
