Justice For Ramon Rodriguez Enriquez Jr
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Yvonne Enriquez and I am asking for your help with my father, Ramon Enriquez Jr’s situation. My dad unexpectedly passed away, at Redwood Post Acute rehabilitation facility in San Jose on 8/16/23, under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances.
I am unable to even have a funeral for him because of the red tape and uncooperative staff at the facility. I strongly believe there has been gross negligence involved and I am asking for your support to be able to give my father the restful peace he deserves.
We already suspected abuse and negligence. Both his VA social worker and I filed separate elder abuse cases with Santa Clara Adult Protective Services just 6 weeks before he died.
Our family still has no idea how he passed, because Redwood has told three separate family members, three separate ways and three very different times too. Ranging from giving him an unknown medication that caused cardiac arrest, to he fell and broke his neck!
Most suspiciously of all - the director of the facility transported him to a different jurisdiction and told the funeral home owner “he has no family and to cremate the body within three days.”
In even more highly suspicious circumstances - my father’s wallet was stolen the first week he entered Redwood Post Acute for the first two weeks, his bank account was emptied and all of his possessions were given away in there a week before his passing! Still no answers or any possessions to be returned to his loved ones, as of today.
It has now been SEVEN weeks since my father's untimely demise in that medical facility. Communication from Redwood stopped completely five weeks ago! They refuse to fulfill the most basic obligations - no doctor's notes, no certification of how my dad died, and - most glaringly - they are refusing to issue a death certificate. California law states that the last physician to see him must issue the death certificate and it is legally required to be done within 10 days.
I cannot have a funeral or even burial/cremation unless I have a death certificate! As of right now, there are six open investigations from the city, county and state. Anywhere from Department of Public Health to two different coroner’s offices, and still no help to put my father to rest, almost two months later.
There are outrageous costs involved:
$5k for cornoners office services
$7k-9K for lawyer services just to get the power of attorney completed
$5k & $9k for storage (still adding up) and transfer fees for the funeral home and a funeral
$5k for misc requirements just to get him buried.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Most costs are coming at us daily because we need to get to the bottom of this blatant abuse and my dad's very suspicious demise.
It is a tragic and insane situation, but my dad doesn't deserve this and our family is bearing the brunt of not being able to get closure because of very, very suspicious circumstances.
Will you help?
Any- and everything helps, from passing our story along to donating whatever you can offer, our family truly appreciates your generosity!
We are doing everything we can; even the children are pitching in. My 9yr old niece made handpicked jam to have donated at a set price to help bury her Grandfather Ramon and even my 8yr old cousin is selling stickers because she too wants to help bury her Tio Ramon!
Thank you so much for your time, for reading our family’s tragic and insane situation we are forced into.
My father came from a military family. He spent over ten years in the Navy, proudly serving his country. His brave younger brother Lucas gave his life in Vietnam. His father before him served and was seriously wounded in combat.
My dad was the "life of the party” and he would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need. We are so grateful for your support to show my father the dignity he deserves to rest in peace.
Thank you.
