Hello, my name is Tom Graham and I am raising funds for Ramona Ramero, a single mother of four whose home was heavily damaged on October 10th when hurricane Lydia made landfall 60 miles south of Puerto Vallarto. She lives with her family in the village of Cruz de Loreto, a small fishing and farming village in Jalisco county, directly in the path of the hurricane. The roof was blown off her small home and all the contents were destroyed by the water. Through it all, Ramona remains grateful for the kindness and generosity of those around her but she knows that is not enough.. Ramona works two jobs and barely makes enough to keep the family fed and clothed. She knows that she will have a difficult time rebuilding in the short time before the rains return.. Her plight highlights the resilience and strength of most single mothers who face incredible challenges but never give up when disaster strikes.
The Mexican Government has promised aid, but the local people know from past experience that it will never happen.
They are on their own, and the work must all be done before the rainy season starts in June. They need our help.
