Random Snacks of Kindness for Healthcare Workers

Donation protected

Some communities clap for their healthcare workers at a certain time every day. Some patients who value their hospital care write a thank you. But what can we all be doing to show increased compassion and support to our nurses, doctors, and other front-line workers in these most challenging times of Covid?

In Nashville, with an idea born directly from the unfortunate viral news events nearby where healthcare workers were abused and threatened, a group of us want to show kindness by way of small, random acts that may lift a healthcare professional’s day. “Random Snacks of Kindness” seeks to identify area ER and other hospital clinic locations and “gift” the individuals there with random treats: anything from luxury donuts, to meals, pizza, coffee drinks, baked goods, gift cards, and more. Anything that shows we CARE and VALUE their sacrifices and extra hard work for those in need in our community. Some healthcare workers say that even cards and letters are very appreciated! So we will engage in that practice as well.

How can you help? We are currently seeking donations in order to purchase the items, gifts, and goods to deliver to our healthcare workers on the front lines. If you can donate here, we will document each delivery and visit so that you can see how your contributions are brightening someone’s day. We can also use help planning and strategizing and with deliveries. We can use suggestions for gifting locations and contacts for ER facilities or clinics to accept the gifts.

But we also want this to be a movement that takes flight and spreads out to many individuals performing these small, kind acts. So if you know people in the healthcare industry and want to do your own gifting, please do! And please use our hashtag: #SnacksOfKindnessForHealthcare — With some momentum, we can make this a national movement! If you have any questions, please write us here or on our Facebook Page and other socials (being developed now). Flyers will also be created for your use to share and spread the word!

Let’s do this and show our medical community some love in a very difficult time! THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DONATED BEFORE THIS ACCOUNT WAS MADE: Kerry Ann Moore, Summer Vertrees, and Jake Sogga!
