Randy Lee Bast, 62, of Jesup, IA, died after a sudden illness related to his long battle with cancer, on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

Randy, a devoted family man and financal provider, worked tirelessly alongside his loved ones, running R&R Drainage, LLC, a small tiling/septic installation, and backhoe service provider. They were a tight-knit team, pouring their hearts and souls into their business. But life had an unexpected twist that none of them could have foreseen.

Like countless other small business owners facing such adversity, Randy's unexpected passing left a heartbreaking burden on his grieving family. The emotional anguish of losing a loved one is an indescribable pain, made all the more daunting by the financial struggles that followed.
