Randy Beauchesne in dire need of your help
Donation protected
On June 13th, Randy was brutally attacked from behind inside a hospital.
A screwdriver was driven through his skull, penetrating the Frontal Lobe during the assault.
A 39 year-old man has been charged with attempted murder. This horrible incident happened due to mistaken identity.
Randy is in the ICU, considered in critical but stable condition. He is still moderately sedated now with a breathing tube to help him conserve energy & prevent irritation.
He has little to no feeling on his left side.
Doctors are concerned with the narrowing of vessels that occurs after a traumatic
experience.
This week, they are keeping him on high blood pressure medication to ensure his brain is oxygenated enough to reduce the narrowness.
This tension should be expected to go down in a few more days. We are still unsure of the severity of the brain damage until Randy is fully conscious. However, no arteries were pierced.
This will be a long and arduous recovery for him even after his release from the
hospital
Randy's daughter has been by his side since this happened, whilst trying to work,
take care of her family's needs, and pay Randy's bills. Our love goes out to her.
Funds would help to pay his bills, rent, etc. Also, any renovations that need to be done or special needs equipment he may require.
These would also cover any therapy he may also need outside the hospital.
His tenacity has gotten him through 2 different bouts of cancer; The last time was only 2.5 years ago. This episode took a toll on him that he is still trying to
physically recuperate from when this atrocity happened.
Randy also lost his dear older brother last year.
Self-employed in the Tree Service and Landscaping Industry for over 35 years.
The extent of his injury could cause the end of a career he has loved doing since
he was 17.
Loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with him.
We have all benefitted from having him in our life.
When Randy becomes your friend, it's a bond that's hard to break.
It's our turn to jump into action and give back to a man that's done so much for
everyone else.
On a personal note- Randy is not only my friend, but he is also my brother from another mother (known each other since I was 14). He was there for me when I had my accident thirty-four years ago and became a quadriplegic.
Like everyone, I am devastated, but more than that, I'm incredibly angry with what happened to him
I don't know what to think anymore.
His daughter told me, "We need to feel out that wave so we can move back towards healing ourselves and to better support him..dad would want us
to cry it out and not keep it all bottled in".
Randy and his family will have the opportunity to provide victim impact statements to the court at trial time.
"All my dad wanted to do was go to the parkade and pay for my old high school
friends' parking."
The following statement is from a friend of the martial art community:
Randy Beauchesne is a member of Ferrer Martial Arts. It has come to the club's attention that he has recently been subject to a physical attack.
He is been hospitalized, now suffering from severe head injury and is currently in critical condition; stable but unconscious.
Randy lives alone and is a self-employed as an arborist.
Given his current incapacitated state it would stand to reason
that he would need assistance in anyway possible as he fights through this recovery and afterward.
He is a fighter who's continued to work through difficult medical challenges even before this attack occurred.
He deserves all the help he can get, and we owe it to him. He's been our partner, teacher, guide and cheerleader. And right now, he needs us.
Thank you.
As you can see, Randy is deeply loved and cared about
I know we all want to help,
and the best way we can at this moment is to help alleviate any financial stress so Randy can focus on his recovery.
Let us show him the love and support he has given us and others.
His daughter will be the beneficiary of funds on his behalf until he is able to do so on his own.
Thank you to all who can help in Randy's desperate time of need!
