Randy Harvey medical bills and expenses

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone taking the time to read this message. Whether you are familiar with me, my father, or both, we deeply appreciate any form of support, whether it be financial or through your thoughts and prayers. This is the current situation we find ourselves in.

In accordance with my father's recent Facebook post:
“I have refrained from making a public statement until now because I was uncertain about the challenges ahead. I initially moved to Oklahoma City approximately two months ago, but by the following Monday, I fell seriously ill with a respiratory infection. After seeking medical attention, a chest X-ray revealed the presence of a tumor in the upper lobe of my right lung, roughly the size of an orange.
Over the past couple of months, I have undergone extensive tests and scans in an effort to understand the situation. I spent a weekend in the intensive care unit receiving strong antibiotics. As of yesterday, I consulted with an oncologist to discuss the treatment plan. The diagnosis is aggressive and malignant cancer, which calls for an equally aggressive approach. Here are the details:
• Limited stage cancer (resembling stage 3)
• Located in the upper right lung with the possibility of affecting lymph nodes; no other instances of cancer have been identified
• A treatment plan consisting of daily radiation therapy over 6-7 weeks
• Four cycles of chemotherapy (with each cycle lasting 21 days), administered on days 1-3 of each cycle.
I have yet to fully come to terms with the gravity of this situation, but the alternative is far from favorable. I may not be done with this journey, but I place my trust in a higher power. It's all in God's hands. Each day is a gift, not a guarantee. I kindly ask for your prayers as the path ahead promises to be a challenging 3-4 months.”

I share all this to underscore a disheartening truth about our healthcare system. My father is now facing illness, rendering him unable to work and devoid of income. Fortunately, the majority of his medical expenses in Oklahoma are covered because he has no income. However it does not cover everything. Paradoxically, if he were to claim social security or disability benefits, he would forfeit his health coverage.

If you can, anything helps. 100% will go towards his living expenses and the medical bills that the state won’t cover.
