Randy Huff Stroke Rehabilitation

Donation protected
Hi, my friends and I are raising funds for our good friend Randy.

I became friends with Randy and this exceptional group of friends when I moved to Kentucky in the 6th grade, although most have known him even longer. We all graduated high school together in a little town called Hebron, Kentucky, and despite some of us moving to different states in the US, we have all remained good friends for 43 years!

In March, Randy had a massive stroke.

In a matter of seconds, Randy went from a strong, muscular, active former police officer (one with integrity and empathy, who cares for his community and will help anyone in need) to a man in a wheelchair who could not walk or talk, or help his family do simple things like help bring in the groceries or accept a package delivered from the post office.

Randy has lived a healthy lifestyle his entire life.
He is active at the gym and doesn't smoke or drink or cheat. He was pretty much the goodie-two-shoes in high school! The guy everyone loves and knows we can trust!

Randy was diagnosed with cancer in his jaw five or so years ago. With the determination and self-motivation that we have always seen in Randy, especially on the high school football field, Randy endured the treacherous struggle to get through the pain of doctors removing a bone from his leg to replace his diseased jaw-bone. Randy overcame that struggle and is cancer free! Surgery after surgery, Randy stayed positive and fueled to survive.

But just this year, one of Randy's arteries was clogged, leading to a new health struggle, a massive stroke.

Now Randy needs rehab 3 times a week, which is not all covered by medical insurance. We can see the fuel in his eyes and hear the vocal determination in every attempt to achieve a goal. He has progressed with speech and movement. Still, without a 3-day-a-week program of rehabilitation, Randy will not be able to recover fully.

Randy's wife of 30 years is now the sole provider for the family since Randy can no longer work. For Randy's well-being, expenses are needed, like a bathroom that accommodates a wheelchair and a bedroom on the first floor to avoid stairs, In-Home Care, and a Full Rehabilitation Program three times a week.

My friends and I will remain friends through and through. We are blessed for each other, and we ask you to be a part of our blessing to help our friend, Randy, get back on his feet before our next class reunion!
