This site is being created on behalf of Randy Terry. "T" as some of the old Purdy gang would remember him. Randy was diagnosed with "Small Cell" lung cancer on Oct. 26, 2016. As luck would have it, it seems that there are two types of lung cancer, large cell and small cell. Neither are good of course, but small cell is a very aggressive, quick spreading type.
While Randy's treatments have been providing good results, we are seeing the effects of not only the cancer, but the chemo and radiation. He doesn't feel well most of the time, ( tired, sore, etc.,) and if you know Randy, you can imagine how hard it is for him to be limited in his ability to work outside on his lawns.
On top of the medical costs associated of course he hasn't been able to work, and his employer provided healthcare is expiring and his Cobra costs are in excess of $1,000 a month!
I guess we all know this in the back of our minds, but to witness this scenario where one day you are at work, and the very next day it all changes. In the blink of an eye, you are fighting for your life, no income, medical bills come pouring in, worried about what the future holds. It is a very sobering reality that life is truly measured by heartbeats.
I never thought that I would be writing for help on a go fund me page, but I figured that anything we can do for Randy, would be very much appreciated. He has been the glue that has kept our crazy family on track for more years than I can count. He has done more for my mom and sister than I can even describe and I know they would agree that they would have been lost without his handyman skills, his willingness to do things like putting out gardens for all to enjoy, all of the mowing, weedeating...I could list things all day long.
With all of that being said, this request for your donation is to help offset some of the worry that comes with this type of tragedy. We want Randy to concentrate and focus on getting well. Anything you can do to help offset the cost of Cobra insurance, day to day living expenses, the doctor bills or just whatever will be so very appreciated. I pray that you never find youself or your loved one in this position and I also pray that if you do, I hope that I am able to help you in the way that I am asking of you.
