Randy Lavigne Memorial fund
Donation protected
Thanks for clicking on this link and for taking the time to read this. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Rich Johnston. I am an elementary school teacher. A couple of months ago my best friend, Randy Lavigne, died unexpectedly. His wife and 2 children are moving on as best they can. We miss him every day.
Randy was pretty well known in town. He was a physical therapist in town for many years and had many patients. Whenever he was out and about, somebody would come over to chat with him. His wife Rachel, who grew up in York, would often say that she had lived here her whole life but Randy knew more people than she did. He was beloved by all.
Randy had a passion for life and for fun. He loved the Boston sports teams, golf, cards, and being around his family and friends as much as possible. He coached Little League for years, even after his kids aged out of the program. One season he was coaching both his daughter’s softball team AND his son’s baseball team. He would run from one field to the next making sure he was involved. He served for years on the York LIttle League Board of Directors. He was involved not just to make things better for his kids, but to make things better for ALL kids. He truly loved working with kids and truly loved baseball and softball. A part of Randy will forever be on the Little League fields in our town.
There are several fundraisers in the works, but many of those won’t be for months. In the meantime, I wanted people to have a way to donate money in memory of Randy. The money that we raise will go to two different places. I hope to raise enough to complete a project or two of some type for York Little League. Possibly new dugouts, new batting cages, resodding a field, etc. Any money above and beyond what the project(s) will cost will go into a college trust fund for Randy’s children.
(I would be more specific about the projects but I won’t know which we can do until I know how much money we have raised.)
Any amount will be appreciated and will be put to good use. Please contact me if you want to donate or help out in some way but aren’t comfortable using the gofundme site.
Randy’s memory will live on on the Little League fields of our town, the golf course, the backyards of his friends, and certainly in our hearts.
Thank you.
