Randy's Army

In August 2023 the Craig family received a diagnosis no parent ever wants, Randy (their only son) was diagnosed with brain tumor, Childhood Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma( DIPG). DIPG is typically a childhood cancer with the peak incidence rate in the age range of 4-11. It is not generally appear in adults. Because DIPG is located in the brainstem of the patient, surgery is not an option.

The news of Randy's diagnosis rocked the community that absolutely adores the young man that Randy is. To know Randy is to know kindness, authenticity, and the love of Jesus which radiates off of Randy and the entire Craig family. To know them is to love them.

The Craigs met this diagnosis with determination, prayer, and faith. If you have ever had the opportunity for Kerri to care for one of your children, you know just how incredible she is at loving others. It is now our turn, to care and love on the Craigs as they face this new challenge.

Randy was accepted into a clinical trial called brainchild four - Car-T Trial. The Craig family will be flying on February 14th, 2024 to Seattle, Washington to begin the trial. The first step of the trial is for them to take out white blood cells so that they can grow Car-t-cells for five to six weeks. Randy has appointments all next week and then they will be flying back to KC.

Following the 5-6 weeks in KC, they will fly back to Seattle -- this time they will be staying a month. Because this is a clinical trial -- it is an ever changing -- fluid situation. This makes planning, working, etc. incredibly difficult on the family. Kerri will be off of work multiple times for extended time periods, they will be flying back and forth, and things will be uncertain and unstable for a time

This is where WE COME IN.

Providing a financial cushion for them as they embark on this challenge will take some stress off of them, leaving them free to solely focus on Randy. The Craigs have spent decades caring for their community and now it is our privilege to return the blessing.

(I have had the privilege of attending church with the Craigs for at least a decade. Kerri has loved on each one of my babies who now all absolutely adore her. Our two oldest kiddos admire and adore Randy. He has been such a great role model for them. What can I say? This family is just gold.)
