Randy's kidney & prostate cancer fundraiser.

Brother, husband, father, grandpa, and of course, a great friend who has served in the military.

Hello! My name is Jean Dodge and thank you so much for reading my friends story.

I am fundraising for my close friends, Randy and wife, Kay Lakings.

This year, early June, Randy went in for his annual physical and received a call the next day that his blood test showed he has prostate cancer. After 12 biopsies in his prostate and a CT scan it was confirmed Randy has cancer in his prostate and in addition a grapefruit size cancer mass in his right kidney. (Randy had his right kidney removed this month on July 18th)

They also mentioned with these two diagnoses, they are suspicious and will also check if cancer is in his lungs.

Randy's employer has no short-term disability for Randy and minimal PTO.

Randy's wife Kay carried their medical insurance for both of them until she was laid off from her lifetime employer at the end of June of this year.

$1,600 a month is now their Cobra payment to have medical insurance coverage for them.

Lastly, Kay was just told she has colon cancer with surgery scheduled next week and has to also have hernia surgery next month.
