My dad, Randy Stone, 56 year-old Indianapolis native, loving father to Natasha and me, proud grandfather to Vanessa and Logan, brother to Becky and Heidi, son to Jacque and Hank, entrepreneur and international businessman, was murdered late Wednesday night, June 24, 2015 during a robbery at his home in Santiago, Dominican Republic where he had been living since 2010.
Dad always wanted to be commemorated as an oak tree. I created this page to raise money so I can:
1) Bring my dad’s ashes home to honor him and his wishes
2) Inventory and ship his personal effects (things which are meaningful to his family such as his guitar, songs, photos, personal papers)
3) Publish his obituary in the Indianapolis Star
4) Commemorate him with a memorial service in his home town of Indianapolis
The U.S. Embassy has been incredibly helpful; international cremation, repatriation and transportation are costly and the process involves international law and a lot of complicated paperwork.
I am asking for your compassion and help. Whenever I needed someone to listen, my dad was always there for me. I tell myself that if we reach our goal, I will have a necklace made using some of his ashes that can easily journey cross-country with me.
Please leave a personal memory of my dad on his online memorial page:
