Rani's Struggle with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease

It was thirty-two days from the time my mom went to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) until she passed away. Over the course of one month, we watched as my previously energetic and healthy mother lost her vision, her body, her voice, her mind, and her ability to eat. Words cannot describe the suffering and pain our family has been through over the past month. CJD is devastating. 

CJD is rare affecting one person per million population per year (approximately 320 new cases every year in the United States of America). This disease is rapidly progressive and is always fatal, usually within 1 year of onset of illness.

We are raising money to benefit the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, Inc., and any donation will help make an impact. We would like to help raise awareness, increase research, and help support families affected by Prion Diseases.
