Raphael Guillory Stage 4 Colon Cancer Fundraiser
Donation protected
My beloved husband (of 23 years) Raphael Guillory has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, which has spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes.
My husband, our five beautiful children and I are beyond devastated to hear this very unfortunate news.
After several weeks of being misdiagnosed, Raphael finally went to the ER for severe pain in his lower abdomen. After several tests and a CAT scan later, the ER physician assistant came and told my husband and I the devastating news. The ER was so packed that night that we were placed on a gurney in the hallway, which is where we received the news. It was like a blur with medical staff, nurses, patients and their family members and hospital security staff all scurrying by us with no clue that our lives were changed forever at that very moment.
Since that night, Raphael has has had many visits with his oncologist and GI surgeon, multiple procedures, blood tests, a surgery and another ER visit. He will not be able to have an immediate surgery for the large mass on the colon as we had hoped. Instead, he will begin chemotherapy December 2 to start treatment and to prayerfully shrink the tumor enough to have surgery down the line.
This will open up other treatment options to address the spread of the cancer throughout his body.
We’ve been so touched by the tremendous outpouring of love, prayers and support that we’ve received.
We truly believe and place our trust in the Lord that Raphael’s healing and deliverance is on its way. We will continue to place our hope in God and will move forward in faith to stand on the Word of God and all of His promises.
Raphael has served the Lord from an early age and has been His faithful servant for so many years. His deep, strong faith and conviction in the Lord, has been such a blessing to our household and entire family, the ministry, his students at EWU and at New Mexico State University, our Nez Perce Indian Reservation and hometown of Lapwai and the Spokane community, and to so many others we know and love.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who has provided prayers, comfort, hugs, words of encouragement and offers to help. We, in turn, are praying that the Lord blesses you and your families as well.
Please join us in continual prayer for Raphael’s complete healing and restoration of health, life and strength. Pray specifically for the doctors, oncologists and nurses and all who are working to help Raphael on his healing journey.
Please pray especially for our beautiful, wonderful children Imani, Sophia, Xavier, Aiva and Adoniah. Pray for their strength, peace and comfort and for the Spirit of God to rest upon them. Their strong faith in Christ has been such an inspiration to their dad and I. We love you our children and thank God for giving us His best.
Pray for Raphael’s parents Jeff and Connie and siblings Ricky, Justin and Veneice and their families, and Raphael’s Godmother June and Mother in the Lord Sister Faye Tomey.
We are so thankful to my parents Jon and Rosa and all of my siblings and their families for their love, prayers and support.
Praise God for Pastor Kinlow and the entire Holy Temple Church of God in Christ of Spokane, WA and our church family. And, all of the ministries we know and love throughout Indian Country and beyond. Praise God for all of His faithful servants.
Our dear friends and colleagues have also been such a great support and source of strength as well.
If you’re able, please donate to Raphael’s medical fundraiser to help offset the ongoing medical expenses. This will alleviate a lot of Raphael’s stress to make sure his family is taken care of during this time.
God bless all of you!
