Help my Dad & Rappville recover from the bushfires

Update:

My father lost his home in the NSW bushfires on October 8 - three months ago today - and although he is gradually recovering from the loss, he is still not in a home of his own. However, hopefully he will be soon. But there are many others in his village who are suffering, and still need a hand.

Our Two Hands, a small local charity, have been incredible and already the recipients of some of the funds donated.

But I know they need more.

Every little bit we can do to help will be appreciated.

Last week he was with us for my son's graduation. Today my father lost everything except the clothes he was wearing in the Busby's Flat bushfire in Northern NSW. Everything has gone. Even his walking stick.

But he is alive. Sadly, two of his friends have died in the fires.

He left Canberra after experiencing the devastating 2004 bushfires ... and not wanting to go through it again. 

Asking for help is very hard, but thank you for anything you can assist him with - even just kind wishes.

Dad’s tiny community of just 150 people are everything to him. Latest reports say that around 20 homes have already been destroyed and the NSW Rural Fire Service still have around 1,000 men on the ground.

All remaining funds will help others who also lost their homes, and we hope to donate to the NSW RFS as well. We will work with authorities to get this money to the victims of this tragic disaster.

Once the victims have relief, any excess funds will go to the NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers who risk their lives day in day out. They saved my Dad’s life and many more.
