Raquel Towler
Raquel Lee Lancaster was born on November 14th 1970 in Deadwood, South Dakota to Jerry and Betsy Lancaster. Throughout her childhood she spent time in Troy, Montana and Petersburg, Alaska before moving to Hot Springs, South Dakota in 1979. Raquel worked at Gene's Dew Drop Inn in the summer and Bills Supermarket in the winter throughout school. Raquel graduated high school in Hot Springs in 1989. In 1990 she met Lin Stanton whom she would marry a year later. Raquel worked with the VA as a telephone operator and at the Wind Cave National Park, before eventually working for the US Forest Service in 1995 whom she'd continue working for until her passing. Working for the Forest Service took Raquel to many places; Fort Pierre National Grassland Fort Pierre, SD, George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, Roanoke, Virginia, Black Hills National Forest, as well as many other places. She finally settled in Custer, South Dakota in 2011. In 2016 her husband passed away. She found love again, on October 10th, 2020 she married Jon Towler in the heart of Custer State Park. Raquel loved spending time with her family and playing games with her friends. She will be forever missed.
She is survived by her husband, Jon Towler, her mother, Betsy Lancaster and father, Jerry Lancaster (Claire), her sister, Michelle Pelley (Bob) and her brother, Sean Lancaster (Terra), her nephews, Nigel, Dylan, Mitchell, and Armani and her great niece, Zariyah Jayne.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Lin Stanton and her grandparents, Nellie and DeLoss Homan and Jim and Laverne Lancaster, and her aunt, Kathy Trautman. https://www.osheimschmidt.com/obituary/raquel-towler
