Raider Aerospace Society (RAS) works to provide students with an opportunity to explore and gain experience within the field of aerospace. To accomplish this, we participate in and sponsor multiple aerospace related projects around campus. Since our university does not offer an Astronautic or Aeronautic Engineering degree paths, we strive to give engineering majors who want to go into those fields a chance to get experience working in these fields.
Raider Aerospace Society consists of 3 divisions that allow us to compete in collegiate aerospace competitions such as International Rocket Engineering Competition, and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics’ Design Build Fly competition. Participating in the competitions allows our members to gain valuable experience and connections in the Aeronautics/Astronautics fields and to serve our sponsors. Beyond competitions, Raider Aerospace Society also leads several multiyear projects. These projects allow members to gain experience that will set them apart from their peers while also providing value to future competition teams.
Raider Aerospace Society relies on the generous support of sponsors and donors to continue offering these unique opportunities to Texas Tech students. Attending our competitions, International Rocket Engineering Competition and the Design Build Fly competition involves significant costs for project materials, travel, and registration fees. Donations play a vital role in helping us overcome these financial barriers, enabling us to focus on innovation, learning, and collaboration. Your support not only helps our members gain invaluable experience but also ensures the future success of our organization.
