Rashid Rahim Memorial Fund

Rashid Rahim left this word way too soon at only 40 years old. He was the loving father of Aiden (13), Anna (11), and Collin (8). Although they will always hold his love in their hearts, they will now grow up without his support.
In his final year, Rashid had been having medical problems and was unable to hold a steady job or plan for an untimely death to receive any benefits. Unfortunately, the doctors he visited were unable to find a cause of his illness, or what exactly was wrong with him.
During his final weeks, I think Rashid felt his time was coming. He called his loved ones, including his kids to apologize for not being able to be around enough. He had made arrangments to purchase life insurance, but fell ill before he was able to do so.
I only know Rashid as my big brother, and growing up he always wanted to protect me. He was very loving and had a kind heart, even in times when I know he was battling his inner demons. When he had children of his own, I could see that he had that same protective spirit for them, and I had never seen him happier than when he was with his family.
Although the kids will be in good hands with their mother, grandparents, and with me, I would like to start a college fund for each of them in memory of my big, sometimes overprotective brother, Rashid Rahim. I know he would want this in lieu of flowers.
