Rashid to the Rescue (Aid for earthquake victims)
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Rashid Sheikh Hassan. I am 19 years old. I am from Syria but my new home is Peterborough, Ontario. I came to Canada as a refugee in 2022. I fled Syria in 2020 when I was 16 because of the war and the danger and I took refuge in Turkey until I could immigrate to Canada.
On February 6th, 2023, an earthquake devastated Turkey and Syria. Thousands of people were killed, thousands of people were injured, and there are many people who are still trapped under the rubble. I want to help people in Syria and Turkey. Syria has not received much aid. Syria has sanctions and an air embargo, preventing the world from helping. Many people in northern Syria are homeless. Children, women, men, and the elderly need help, and I want to help get medical aid to the people there. My goal is to collect money for the Canadian International Medical Relief Organization (CIMRO). They will take it to northern Syria and Turkey to be used for medical supplies for injured people. They need to purchase medicine and medical supplies in Canada to take with them and they need to buy medical supplies overseas. I am in contact with the president of CIMRO and I can get money to them directly.
I am asking for your help so that CIMRO can save lives and help the injured. 100% of money raised will be provided to CIMRO who will use every dollar to treat the injured. Together, we can rescue people who desperately need it.
My story is now on Global News.
