Raul Gallegos' Funeral Fund: A Family's Need
Donation protected
Raul Gallegos was born December 21, 1943, and left this world unexpectedly on December 31, 2024. He was a proud veteran, or military man, as he liked to call himself. He dutifully served this country as a sergeant with the Military Police in the harsh jungles of Vietnam. After leaving the service, Raul spent the rest of his life in devotion to God and his family. He worked an endless amount of hours to support his large and ever-growing family, including his wife of 53 years, Ramona Gallegos, and his adult children Vanessa, Matthew (another veteran), Joshua, and Cathy. There are also, of course, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he proudly grandfathered to his final day.
Raul loved meeting and talking to people; he was friends with everyone he encountered, and he encountered a lot of people as he loved to walk everywhere. He loved animals and seemed to have an almost magical way of communicating with them. The very last thing he did on this earth was paint a toy chest for his 3-year-old granddaughter, who he adored with all his heart. He called her his sergeant. This is a man who was a true American, a real friend, and the world is crying today because we lost one of the best. We all owe him a humongous debt of gratitude.
This GoFundMe is meant to raise money for his funeral expenses. Raul was the breadwinner for his household, so this sudden loss comes at a devastating time for everyone. This money will be very important to get through the funeral, burial, and all the other harsh expenses that are bestowed upon those who love someone who passes away. Raul was a kind, free-thinking, humorous, creative, and incredibly wise soul, and despite everything he brought to this world, he was not as privileged as a lot of us to leave his family with money at this mournful time. Everyone needed and wanted more time with him. He will be missed, remembered, and loved forever.
