Raul's children and his ministry

For years, Raul and Robbi planned their next chapter: to preach God’s word to unreached people groups to hasten Christ’s return. Raul wrote a book "Why Simple Discipleship” as a road map on how all of us could do our small part. Along with his wife Robbi, they gathered many to join their journey, already connecting local pastors with 30 unreached people groups. They were creating a movement. Just a month ago, they uprooted their lives in Colorado, after selling or giving away all their belongings and moved to Cebu City, Philippines, to establish their ministry. Recently, on Oct. 21, 2022, Raul was tragically killed by a drunk motorcycle driver while on Camotes island in the Philippines. Born May 3, 1965, Raul was only 57 yrs old.

Raul dedicated his life to being a man in whom God is great. He was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, Tito, cousin, friend, mentor, servant, pastor, businessman, musician and a man of wisdom with a gifted sense of humor. He leaves his wife, as well as his grandchildren: Malachi, Mirabella, Yarra, Keziah and his children Sharaya, wife of Micah Applegate, Runner, Harrison, Jon Michael, Sean Thomas, Zach and Jase.

His children, some of whom are still in school and others who are on unpaid leave from work to deal with their father’s sudden death, need prayers and support to host their father’s memorial, to help their father's ministry and to fly to the Philippines to commemorate their father by spreading his ashes over the water in the country where he was born and died, and most especially – where he felt his calling. May his ashes and God’s word spread to all the people groups he endeavored to reach.
