RavenWood Family in Crisis

Hello my name is Adam, my wife Samantha and our family are in dire need of help.

I'll start with introducing my family. My wife and I were wed on September 17th of last year. She has 2 kiddos, 11 and 7, that I am proud to call my kids. About a week after our wedding she was hospitalized for three days for a gallstone that was giving her a lot of pain and discomfort. During her stay the doctors informed us that we were pregnant. This was wonderful news, and we were overcome with joy.

Early on in our pregnancy baby was doing fine, mommy was feeling well and growth was normal. About half way through her pregnancy the doctors notice a decrease in the babies development and placed her (yes it's a girl!!!) within the eleven percentile as far as growth. It was around this time that complications with mom became more apparent.

Also around this same time our eleven year old daughter became ill and we rushed her to the hospital, where we found out she has type 1 diabetes, and will need to be on insulin the rest of her life. Along with this news came a whole lot of big changes for our family as we adapted to our daughters diagnosis. The hardest part is seeing my daughter unhappy because of the restrictions she needs to have.

Not long after this huge flip in our world, my wife was told that she needed to have her gallbladder removed and it would be best to do it before her third trimester. Although the surgery went well for my wife, it was very difficult on our little one growing inside.

Since her surgery, little Artemis has been experiencing a dipping heart rate when monitored over time, and her growth has plateaued, now placing her in the 2nd percentile. At her last appointment this past Thursday they did an ultrasound and discovered further complications involving the amniotic sack, as well as discovered that her water has broken. All of these things combined with a bacterial infection in momma, create a rather dangerous situation for our little girl.

As of right now she is being admitted into the hospital until baby's arrival, for round the clock monitoring, She is currently 32 weeks pregnant. The medical staff is hoping baby will hold out until week 35 or longer. The longer she stays in the less time she will need in the ICU.

I cannot even begin to explain how difficult this has all been. My new family is hurting so much and the universe doesn't seem to want to give us a break. On top of the medical issues that we have suffered, our financial situation has also continued to downward spiral. With everything that has happened we both have lost tremendous amounts of time from our jobs, and added new expenses for special treatment and life style changes. I am currently working as much as physically possible just to keep the lights on and avoid eviction as we seem to just keep falling behind in life.

It pains me so that my family is suffering so very much, and that the little pleasures of life have to be removed just so we can survive. This weekend is Easter and we were barely able to give our two kids anything special, as all kids deserve.

And now the hardest part admitting that I just cannot do it on my own and reaching for any help I can get. To whomever made it this far into our story, please if you can spare anything to ease the burden on our shoulders and help my family to get back to a stable place, I can't even begin to explain how grateful I would be. I've never been more scared in my life, and would give anything and everything to see my family thriving again. Thank you to all those who simply read our story and send there positive energy, we need everybit we can get.
