Advanced Art Travel Trips

Hello, my name is Ravon Wilczewski. I am a 15 year old sophomore at Upper Lake High School. I have always been fascinated with the world, it’s art and wide variety of different cultures especially. My earliest memory is of, well, myself drawing. That's just how I’ve always been. Doodling on the sides of pages, begging my parents for art supplies, and reading about different artists all over the world. (When I found out I was born on Picasso’s birthday I almost fainted!). I have also always wondered about the different places all over the world, but it seemed hopeless for the longest time that I would ever see the breathtaking sights you see on the television or on the internet. I have never left my state, and have barely left my county. The farthest I have gone is San Francisco, which is only 3 hours away from home. But even then, it seemed like an entirely new world to me. Wonder and adventure filled my veins that day, and I have yearned to feel like that again.

When I entered high school, I met the most amazing teacher I have ever seen - my art teacher - Ms. Sabalone. She taught me many different kinds of art and art styles, and taught me more about some of my favorite artists and even sometimes about different places all over the world and their art and culture. I can honestly say that Art is my all time favorite class. I feel at peace there, and excited to learn about the things I am already passionate about. Anyone who has taken Ms. Sabalone’s class probably already knows about her many delightful stories of traveling, we hear them almost constantly. One day, She presented a trip from Istanbul to Athens. My heart skipped a beat. I never believed that I would ever get to travel outside of my state- let alone my country. As soon as I went home I watched videos of strangers’ adventures on the trip, and was brought to tears. I had that feeling again, yearning to experience the ethereal architecture, art, and culture on the trip. Unfortunately, there is no way that my family and I can raise the money for the trip on our own. Any donation whatsoever helps, and is immensely appreciated. Please help me broaden my horizons and experience the magical adventures to have on this trip. Thank you.
