Ray Alonso Memorial Fund

Ramon F. Alonso, known to his friends as Ray, passed yesterday, September 14th, at the University of Miami Hospital in Miami. Unfortunately, he was not able to leave plans or funds for his burial. Ray Alonso was known by many for his work in getting political candidates elected in Miami over the past 4 decades. Most recently, he was involved with his Christian ministry. After working to get Bruce Kaplan elected to the Miami-Dade County Commission, he accepted a position which allowed him to aid the poor communities of East Little Havana and Overtown as Director of Constituent Services.

Ray was born in Cuba and, like many Cuban exiles, although loving the USA, never became an American citizen, always holding the hope that he may return to a free and democratic Cuba. He was involved with many Cuban organizations in Miami.

Ray will be missed by his many friends.
