Ray Gutierrez

Hello fellow friends and family, we want to share some unfortunate news that Ray Gutierrez and the Gutierrez Family has been dealing with since July 21, 2023. Ray Gutierrez our friend, brother, father and husband was violently attacked that morning.

Ray was out doing his morning duties cleaning a shopping center in Riverside. This Homeless man unexpectedly attacked Ray from behind. Ray was stabbed 14 times suffering injuries across his face, his arms, his back, chest and stomach. At one moment when Ray was wounded in his stomach, he was able to react and get control of the weapon. By the grace of God Ray was able to defend himself and get away from the attacker. Ray managed to walk across the street to seek some help, shortly after the police and paramedics arrived.

Ray was immediately rushed to surgery to close up the wounds. There were many times the news of Ray’s status was unclear but through prayers and the medical staff at Riverside Community Hospital they were able to stabilize Ray.

Ray has been fighting against all odds since July 21st. Ray’s determination and stubbornness to not give up has brought him to a point where a few Doctors didn’t think was possible this early on in his recovery.

Ray’s faith in God and his positive contagious demeanor has kept Ray focused on the goal to recovery. Ray is in long term care and is daily getting treatment for all his injuries.

Ray is the sole breadwinner of his household and while his wife Monica has been holding down the fort, we want to come together and ask for some help for our Brother Ray. Any and all donations will go a long way for the Gutierrez family.
