Ray & Mary Jo's Home Gone in Eaton Fire
Donation protected
My name is Nick Spano, the son of Ray & Mary Jo Spano, who lost their home of 52 years in Altadena, CA to the Eaton Fires on January 8, 2025. All my parents' possessions, clothing, family keepsakes, photos, and life's work were lost like so many others.
My eight siblings and I grew up in this home that my parents restored piece by piece over decades. It was a home not only to my family but to everyone that walked through the door.
We are not alone in our loss. So many others are suffering along with us, and our hearts go out to everyone. My parents are now in their 80s, and the idea of recovering and rebuilding all that was lost is daunting and unimaginable. The reality of what has happened still has not set in.
My parents are the type to never ask for anything and always offer more than they have, so it is with a very heavy and humble heart that I ask for your support. Anything you can offer to help make this sudden transition easier is greatly appreciated.
The goal is set as $1 because anything is welcomed and nothing is too small. It's hard to fathom when you are so used to being the home for everyone else, and have all that you need. My parents never spent much or bought new things, but now that is going to be all different. All funds raised will help my parents recover their essential needs when the reality sets in that everything is gone. Your support will help with clothing, cookware, personal care, computers, living expenses, and rebuilding whatever can be rebuilt. Please help us show Ray and Mary Jo just how greatly they are loved for all the love they have given to our family, our friends, and the whole Altadena community. Thank you for your support.
