Ray of Hope Walk 2021
Donation protected
The Ray of Hope Walk (ROHW) was established by Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in direct response to its national philanthropy, Raising Awareness of Violence Against Women. The goal of the ROHW is to educate, bring awareness, empower, and mobilize our communities. The ROHW focuses on challenging people to be a part of the movement to end this global epidemic– in an effort to create a safe and equitable society for all. Since its inception in 2012, Ray of Hope Walk has grown tremendously in size and reach; from New York City, to now occurring simultaneously in four total cities across the country including Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA. This year we are envisioning creative ways to continue the movement to end violence against women while observing recommended social distancing to keep our communities safe.
For years Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (OPBSI) has built partnerships with organizations committed to eradicating the different forms of violence against women by naming them beneficiary of our Ray of Hope Walk in order to honor and support their work. In 2020 we are excited to work with our sisters across the country to build our partnership with Black Womens Blueprint (BWB), a transnational black feminist organization and movement builder in ending violence against women based in Brooklyn, NY. BWB focuses on providing sexual assault crisis counseling, toolkits, trainings and fully operating a trauma-informed and survivor centered Mobile Healing Unit (Sistas Van).
Your donations are so important and immensely appreciated. We hope you join us for our weekend of action on October 8th - October 10th!
