Raymond Ruiz, 52 of Jersey City passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2020 while on his nightly walk. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Ruiz of Jersey City, his children Angelina Cecilia Ruiz, Raymond Ruiz Jr. , Giovanni Ruiz, Antonio Ruiz.
Raymond Ruiz known to everyone as Ray.
Born and raised in Jersey city and so very
proud of it! Born to Dolores and Raymond.
Brother to Robyn and Robert. Ray was larger
than life, his positive energy, that contagious
smile that he had, he literally, and I am not
joking, literally knew everyone. If you were
unfortunate enough not to know him once you met him you could instantly see just how
special he was. He connected instantly to
everyone that he met. He was someone you
could always count on. He was someone who will never say no. No matter what it was that
you needed. He enjoyed having those life
conversations, and offering advice to
everyone. Family and friends were everything to him.
You can ask any family member and they will
tell you just how amazing, loving, caring and
supportive he was to each and everyone of
them. Each family member has their own
special story to tell about Ray because he had a special connection with each one. Friends
well, we know how Ray was as a friend. He
didn’t know what “friends” were, because he was a “brother” to every friend that he had. To Ray you are not a friend you are brother, and he will do anything and everything for you.
That special bond that he had with his best
friends Dario, Jerry and Mickey wow!
Indescribable, you don’t find true friendship
like that. He had his own history and
connection with each one of them that was
different from the other, yet the same.
The love that he had for them was beyond
measure. The stories well, we all know about
the crazy stories that they each have to tell
about the things that they experienced with
Ray. These stories are unbelievable, but that
was Ray, crazy as can be.
Ray was a mentor to everyone, a true role
model, he was full of information, he was
always reading, researching and learning. He knew about everything and can hold a
discussion with anyone about anything. He
was a hard worker, always hustling, he never
stopped. I mean never stopped. He was
passionate and genuine about his work.
Always wanting to help children and families, he wanted to save the world.
He was a devoted father to his 4 children.
They were the center of his world and he was
theirs. Always teaching then about life and
values. Always telling his children to follow
their dreams and never stop. He loved taking
his children on trips to Jersey City and New
York and giving them life experiences and
telling them to never ever forget where you
come from!. He enjoyed sharing stories with
them about his own childhood and all of the
crazy things that he did. Every time his
children talked to him he had a story to tell
about his own life. He will tell the babies
“When I was a kid...” the kids will say “Oh here we go again another story”. But once Ray got
started they were so intrigued by what he was sharing that they wanted to hear more and
boy were these stories entertaining. He was a very, very proud father. And I know he will
watch over them from heaven and guide them to be the best that they can be.
Ray was an amazing husband he was my
world, taught me about what unconditional
love is, life, the meaning of family. I am the
woman that I am because of him, I am the
mother that I am to his children because of
who raised him and who he was and for that I am proud and honored. I love you tremendous. ly with all my heart and everything that I have. You will forever be in my heart.
Ray, loyal, selfless, dependable,
compassionate, loving, supportive, amazing,
devoted, educated, honest, and on and on and on.
We love you, We miss you always and forever
in our hearts.
Until we meet again...
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to assist in offsetting the funeral
expenses as well as helping the family cover
