Raymond Delgado's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
Ray is back at home in hospice in the final stages of his cancer battle. We are raising money to get caught up on the mortgage so that his home is not foreclosed and for funeral and memorial expenses.
We want to express by saying what a difficult time this is, and reaching out to everyone asking our community for their assistance is not easy. There is no easy way of saying that we do need your help. Ray is dying of cancer. Has very little time left.
Raymond Delgado's Love of His Fans and Sports
Throughout his 33 years in the Valley of the Sun, Raymond Delgado has served his fans at all the Major Sporting Events from opening day! Sports teams include Arizona Cardinals, Arizona D-Backs, Arizona Coyotes, California Angels, Spring Training for Chicago Cubbies, San Francisco Giants, Arizona State University Sun Devils, and many more. In addition, Ray served as the #1 beer vendor for 25 years.
Ray is admired by many of his fans, co-workers, staff, and friends. Ray is well-known for singing “Hello is it Me your Looking for” by Lionel Riche.
Ray always seemed to place a smile on their face!
Ray loves the game of baseball. He grew up in the Bronx in New York. In adolescence, Ray always seemed to find his way to the New York Yankee Stadium. His dream was to play for the New York Yankees. Ray was an outstanding ball player in his time. At the games here in the valley, Ray loved showing the young kids some great tips and how to pitch a ball, hoping they would one day follow their dream.
During the pandemic, Ray contracted Covid. As a direct result, it caused a major Stymie heart attack. Several weeks later, we discovered he had Cancer. After undergoing over a year in a half of cancer treatments, we are advised by his doctors that we need to prepare for the end.
Ray loved his work. He was always dedicated and committed to his fans. He worked hard. He never asked anyone for anything. Ray was always about helping the less fortunate by purchasing coats, blankets, and other needs and would provide for people experiencing homelessness.
Due to the pandemic, Ray lost a substantial income because he could not return to work.
His wife Melanie is a current college student. When Ray got sick, she chose his best care by staying home to attend to and care for all his health needs while undergoing cancer treatments.
Ray never being late with his monthly bills and has never been late with a mortgage payment in 18 years. Their home went into forbearance in May 2020. It ended three months ago, and he is now behind in their mortgage. Ray now wonders how his wife will survive and be able to cover funeral expenses and save their home, as he has worked hard for 18 years to establish a home for them.
Ray’s greatest wish for his wife is that she will be ok, and hopefully, by some miracle, their home will find its way out of debt so she can remain in their home until her end.
I asked Ray what he misses the most; he said (as it brought tears to his eyes), “I cannot work anymore, and I miss all my co-workers and fans the most!”
We are reaching out to the hearts and kindness of our community, co-workers, fans, friends, and family to help Ray’s family raise $50,000, which is for assistance towards their mortgage (which was in forbearance till three months ago) and three months outside of the forbearance and soon-to-be funeral and other expenses.
