Raymond Rivera memorial
Our beloved Raymond Rivera lost his battle with Covid-19 on 1/2/21. Raymond was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, brother and devoted soulmate of 36 years to my Aunt Nora.
Just a few weeks ago, he discovered that my Aunt Nora had pancreatic cancer and told us that he didn't know what he would do if he lost her. Now it's my aunt who is heartbroken.
My uncle Ray was stubborn as hell, but probably also the kindest guy I have ever known. He devoted everything to taking care of my aunt. His daughters said the following when asked what he meant to them:
"He was an amazing soul and a kind hearted person that would have done anything for anyone. As far as fathers go, I won the dad jackpot. He was one of the best friends I've ever had. He always accepted and encouraged me no matter how weird he thought I was lol . He was my mother's soul mate and seeing how much that he loved her was inspiring. My world is much darker now that he's gone and words can never express the amount of heartbreak that I feel." -Amanda Rivera
"He loved my Mom more then anything. He would go out of his way just to make her happy. He was more then a step father. He was our Dad. He loved his grandchildren" -Honor Rizzo
Ray was a good man and he lived his life spreading love to his family and those around him. The tragedy of his death has come at one of the most difficult times for our family. The concern for my aunt is not only the sudden loss of her soulmate, but also the impending costs of medical treatments. This gofundme account is to help us cover the cost of my uncle's funeral. If we are able to raise funds beyond what is needed for the burial services, we will put it towards Aunt Nora's medical costs. Everything helps so if you have a few dollars to spare please consider helping us during this difficult time. Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read our story.
