Ray's Story. "I Want To Live!"

Donation protected
My journey began in March 2020 just as the COVID lockdown began. I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer and was told to come back in September for a follow-up due to lockdown protocols.

I didn't know much about cancer, but what I did know is that early detection was the best offense and defense against it. So, the September date was never a good fit for me.

I snooped around a bit and discovered the Mission Act, where if a Veteran does not feel they're getting an adequate level of care from the VA, they can always opt out into the community "per authorization."

Well, the following week I was at the University of Texas Southwest having the tumor surgically removed.

All went well except the surgeon stated he was not able to get all of the tumor due to its proximity to the carotid and that he had gone as far as he could comfortably go. We agreed that a complimentary round of radiation should do the trick.

After two consecutive months of radiation therapy, I was given a clean bill of health and placed on imagining /monitoring every 3 months.

All was well until November 2022. I noticed discomfort in my throat when swallowing. I spoke with the ENT who biopsied/imaged and agreed to just keep an eye on it.

Fast forward to June 2023, there was a lesion in my mouth that after biopsy was found to be cancer return with a vengeance! As of Early June, I have been waiting for a tumor board to determine the treatment plan.

I was asked what I would like to do and my response was, “Nothing that we have already done.”

In one month, I have gone from swallowing issues to breathing through a trachea tube and eating through a feeding tube.

I asked them, "If a mechanic did their car like that, would they take it back to the same mechanic?"

After researching a bit, it appears the CDC AND FDA have a stranglehold on the lucrative market of cancer treatment. There is a definite push for doctors to recommend to patients the standard, which is Chemo and radiation.

Through much careful and prayerful consideration, we have decided not to wait for any more tumor boards offering more of the same failed processes.

Rather, we would choose the Burzynski Clinic in Houston Texas where many people from around the world enjoy an 85-90% success rate without side effects.

Our final hurdle will be to raise the 30 thousand dollars it will take for the month of treatment.

So, may I appeal to you for the change in your front passenger seat, together with the sofa cushion in the living room? No amount is too small.

Thank you & God bless,
