Jim's Cancer Treatment - ongoing bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sue, I'm Jim's wife of 32 years, and I'm fundraising for help during Jim's fight against squamous cell carcinoma.
This is very difficult for me to write, as I do not like asking for help.
He had cancer in his lip, which spread to his neck, parotid salivary gland and lymph nodes.
He had selective neck dissection surgery on March 23, 2023 and now has to undergo both radiation treatments as well as chemotherapy. Although he is collecting a pension it's not nearly enough to cover gas to travel to Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Center and back home again 5 days a week, for up to six weeks. We live over two hours away. On top of that there is a $27 parking fee at the hospital making that particular bill almost $1000 a month. Money we just don't have at the moment.
He was working while collecting his pension but that has been put on hold since his illness came to light last year when he found a lump on his neck.
This has put us dangerously behind on things like property taxes and even monthly utilities. Thankfully so far we've kept up on the mortgage payments and groceries.
My income is nowhere near enough to carry us, and at the moment I'm waiting on a start date for a new job.
Even the smallest donations would help dig us out of the hole we're in, and I want to thank anyone in advance who helps us for their kindness.
