The Greg Kuertz Memorial can be summed up by one word. Opportunity. We formed this organization to provide resources and opportunities for children in our community. The vehicle we use to accomplish is the sport of golf, but the impact reaches far beyond the course.
Our organization was founded in 2020 when several individuals having the desire to contribute to the well-being of our community's youth through service, education, and charitable contributions came together to form a common goal. Because Greg was such a tremendous advocate for our youth golf programs, it was only natural to form this organization in his name.
This foundation is highlighted by our annual Free Junior Golf Clinic, but your donations are vital to helping sustain and complement our programs throughout the year.
In 2022 we partnered with the S.O.U.L. Foundation (Shaping Our Urban Leaders) as our goals and visions were in lock-step with one another. 2023 saw the addition of a second partnership as we aligned with the APPS Program (Applying Passion and Purpose to Service) to add a workforce development component to the program.
This partnership leveraged a state funded job readiness program to create paid positions specifically for these young people at our golf courses. This employment became a chance for them to not only earn money, but also build character, self-esteem, and accountability, among other valuable life skills that extend far beyond the golf course. Training included mandatory seminars on topics like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as well as Financial Literacy.
As you can see, we are actively shaping the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow. Your contribution will pave the way for more young citizens to access these wonderful programs and opportunities.
We now have official 501(c)(3) status!
