RBI HIT (Recycling Baseball Items Helping Impact Tomorrow) was formed in 2017 by high school students committed to having a significant impact on the lives of others living in impoverished communities. As part of its first initiative, in 2017, members of the organization collected used baseball equipment, 75 bicycles and various toys that would eventually be donated to children in the Dominican Republic. They shipped the items to the DR and traveled there in Dec 2017 to deliver the donations in-person. Since then, the youth-led organization has made 4 additional trips down to the Dominican Republic and changed lives in a variety of ways including delivering food to over 100 families in rural towns, funding and building a neighborhood baseball field, providing the first ever high-speed internet service to a public elementary school and building sustainable gardens at an all-girls orphanage.
