Help repair the RBO Van
Tax deductible
As many of you know, the RBO van is as much a member of our team as our students, parents, coaches, and volunteers are. The van transports our training equipment, RBO shirts, and snacks to practices and races, ensuring our students are equipped with everything they need to have a successful run. You may have seen the RBO van driving along Harrison St., or parked at your local race. In any case, seeing that RBO blue and yellow on wheels reminds Oakland residents of RBO's mission, which is to raise awareness for healthy living and to build self-confidence in Oakland youth through the challenges and achievements of running.
At approximately 5:30am on Jan. 11th, 2022, the RBO van was broken into along Estates Dr. in the Oakland Hills, resulting in $4,168.30 of van damages + a $1,000 deductible added on top of that. The suspects made away in a dark colored Ford F-250 after breaking the lock and back doors with a crowbar, punching the driver's side window with a pair of jeans, and breaking the ignition.
Insurance will cover a portion of the expenses to repair the back door, window, ignition, and padlock, but we need your help to cover the rest. A portion will also go towards long term storage solutions. Any amount is appreciated. We thank you for your ongoing support of RBO!
