Emily’s Fearless Fight

Hi, my name is Lauren Droit and I’m raising money for my childhood best friend, Emily McVicker who is currently battling breast cancer. She was recently diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, has had a double mastectomy, and is currently going through chemotherapy with radiation to follow. Unfortunately she does not have the option to be off work while she’s dealing with the horrible side effects of treatment. Emily is continuing to be a full time middle school teacher, mother of three young boys, wife, and friend during this physically and mentally tasking ordeal. She is already battling insurance to cover surgeries and treatments with medical bills to continue to pile up for months to come. I’m hoping to raise money to take some of this stress off her and her family. I’m also hoping we can raise enough to send her and her family on a vacation possibly this summer after she has completed her treatments. Emily is one of the most caring, selfless, strongest women I know. I know she’ll get through this but want to help alleviate as much unnecessary stress as possible, as I’m sure all who know her would want as well.
