Maust snowblower fund

Here in Alaska, we have only two seasons - winter and getting ready for winter. There’s a bit of humor there, but there’s also a reality that being able to thrive during the winter months takes a lot of work. We wanted to share a special project with you and ask for your consideration in helping out. We are headed into our fourth winter in Alaska, and every year we are absolutely amazed by the quantity of snow we receive. For example, last year my two youngest boys and I had to climb up on the roof of our house three separate times to shovel the snow off the roof. We received so much snow that a roof collapse was a real possibility if we weren’t proactive. In fact, there were several houses and businesses in our local area that did experience a roof collapse.
Additionally, multiple times a week for six months we had to shovel our driveway and we often tried to help shovel our elderly neighbor’s driveway as well. This can take hours of very physical labor each time, and that is time that can be better spent in ministry. We would very much like to be able to purchase a snow blower for these tasks. We realize this is a bit of a luxury, but last year alone, we received (and therefore had to shovel) over 100 inches of snow. We conservatively calculate that to be 75 tons of snow that we had to manually move over the course of winter.
Would you be willing to contribute towards the purchase of a snow blower? The particular model we would love to purchase is an electric model, because there is no oil (which thickens up when we have arctic cold temperatures). The cost for this unit is $1799, which we know is a big ask, but anything contributed towards this cost would be super helpful. Thank you so much for considering and for your many encouragements that help the Maust family continue to thrive in ministry in Alaska!
